It has become necessary to update our policy on "courtesy credits". If you are not familiar with what these are - they are issued in situations where mechanical failures, family emergencies or other unexpected situations where 'life happens' prevent you from enjoying your track time. When a driver misses out on track time unexpectedly, we always feel bad about it, and have been very generous with store credits to try to make up for it. However, AutoInterests is unable to continue to absorb the economic impact of these situations as they typically occur on short, or zero notice and do not provide an opportunity to resell a driving spot or otherwise recoup the cost. To solve this problem, two years ago we created HPDE Protection Plans. This program is specifically designed to provide coverage for these types of situations. The time has come to align our "courtesy credit" policy with the spirit of the HPDE Protection Plan program. This is only fair to those who purchase HPDE Protection Plan coverage, and is a necessary business decision for our organization. Introducing the "Courtesy Credit Pool" Because we do feel bad when 'life happens' we are introducing a "courtesy credit pool" of $250 for every event day. Any driver who has an unexpected issue resulting in a loss of track time can receive up to a $50 credit from the pool once per event (not per day). If the daily pool is exhausted, no further 'courtesy funds' are available. Courtesy credits from the pool will continue to be issued on a discretionary basis and are not guaranteed. These cannot be combined with HPDE Protection Plan coverage and are intended to be a basic benefit for those without HPDE Protection Plans. The only guaranteed coverage is through HPDE Protection Plans.
