We have been working very hard to make events happen for this season. Late last week we encountered an unexpected issue. Local health departments had been indicating that there should not be an issue with opening race tracks with some understandable precautionary measures aligned with what we see in stores, etc. It was believed to be a formality that the Ohio Dept. of Health would need to approve plans as agreed by local health departments. Now it has been brought to our attention that the Ohio Dept. of Health is being unresponsive to approving these plans. As a result, we are working multiple angles and pushing very hard to make events happen, and there still is reasonable probability of success but we could use your help. There are two ways you can help! First - please sign our online petition here: https://www.change.org/p/ohio-governor-open-motorsports-in-ohio Second, please contact the Ohio Governor's office: You can do this here: https://governor.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/governor/contact A sample message you can copy/paste/edit/etc is provided below. Please KEEP ALL MESSAGES RESPECTFUL AND PROFESSIONAL! -----SAMPLE------ As a passionate motorsports enthusiast, I hereby ask that the Governor's office make it a priority to re-open race tracks in Ohio. It is a critical therapeutic outlet beneficial to the mental health effects of this pandemic/shutdown and can be conducted in a socially distanced, safe manner. Know that this is supported by over 3,300 others (and counting) at our online petition here: https://www.change.org/p/ohio-governor-open-motorsports-in-ohio Please work to re-open motorsports in Ohio quickly to support many seasonal, family owned, small businesses that have reached a critical time in their operating season! Small-format events can provide a critical mental health outlet and small business support in a safe socially distanced manner! -----/SAMPLE------ Other angles of addressing this are in motion but we want to push every available option and support the greater good for motorsports as a whole in Ohio. Thank you for your support - more specific event updates will be coming out over the next few days!
