Did you get one of these cards? It means someone wanted to let you know how fun it is to drive your car on a race track! Maybe you're thinking, what kind of race track? We host High Performance Driver's Education (also known as HPDE, PDE or DE) at road course race tracks in the Midwest. What is a road course? It's a closed circuit made of a paved surface. Road courses are different from drag strips and ovals tracks because they have both right and left turns of varying degrees, as well as straights of varying lengths. This makes road courses interesting and fun! Also, no two road courses are the same so you can continue to learn new skills and challenge yourself by visiting more than one facility. Never driven on track? You're in the right place! As mentioned earlier, we provide High Performance Driver's Education which means we are focused on learning, safety and fun. These events are NOT races and they are NOT timed. No HPDE or race experience is required, all skill levels of drivers are welcome! No "race car" needed - all makes and models of cars welcome! Vehicles at our events range from a stock Mazda Miata to supercharged Dodge Vipers. Full learning experience - our program consists of classroom sessions lead by our personable and engaging classroom instructor, car control sessions (off-track, hands on vehicle dynamics training), and in-car instruction! In addition to classroom sessions, car control sessions (off-track, hands on learning) and on-track driving sessions, first time and novice drivers are paired with one of our fantastic, experienced instructors. In the HPDE program, drivers are grouped according to experience level - you will only be on track with other drivers who share your level of experience. If you're a first timer you'll be on track with other first timers, if you're advanced you'll be on track with other advanced drivers, etc. Passing is only permitted with point-by signals in designated areas. HPDE is for everyone and is a great opportunity to learn the dynamics of your car; which can prove useful on the street or on the track. Most importantly, we promise you will have a ton of fun! Our events feature a friendly group of staff, instructors and participants with the common goal of an outstanding experience! Many of our drivers refer to their "AutoInterests family" because that's what it feels like when you're at the track with us. Many of our drivers form lifelong friendships; we've even had participants fall in love, but let's not get too mushy... Whether you have never participated in HPDE or are a seasoned veteran we encourage you to attend an AutoInterests event for a unique and educational experience in a welcoming atmosphere! VIEW OUR EVENTS! FYI - we are seasonal here in the Midwest and our events generally run from May through September. There is a short period of time from mid-September to early November that there are no events listed on our site as we need this time to coordinate with the tracks to schedule next year's dates. However, once we have our schedule locked in we open up registration in the fall and that is the best time to sign up because we have off-season deals and savings!
