Hello instructors!  We look forward to seeing you on track this weekend for our 11th Annual GingerMan Memorial Day Weekend HPDE!

Make sure you READ THIS EMAIL as it contains IMPORTANT INFORMATION about this weekend!


Due to the current situation with COVID-19, some procedures/policies will be handled differently and are outlined below. Our full COVID-19 Information & Plan is available here, and we encourage you to read through this for full details.

The following items apply to May 23-24 at GingerMan Raceway:

  • All persons entering the property will have their temperature taken at the gate. Anyone exceeding 100.4 degrees F will not be permitted to enter.
  • An online health attestation must be completed online no more than 24 hours prior to the event. This will be available on your "My Events" tab within 24 hours of event start time. Anyone not meeting health assessment requirements will not be permitted to attend the event.
  • Drivers and all individuals on the property must maintain social distance at all times, even outside of event operating hours.
  • Camping is permitted and showers/restrooms will be open with enhanced cleaning procedures in place.
  • GingerMan's concession stand will be open for breakfast and lunch.
  • The event will NOT be open to the public, however spectators attending with a driver are welcome. We request you keep this number to a minimum and if arriving separately from the driver, guests will need to know the first & last name of the registered driver they are attending with. Any spectators that arrive and do not associate themselves with a driver will be denied entry. Spectators that are permitted must remain socially distanced at all times unless from the same household.
  • The driver meeting will be live streamed - a link will be sent to you via text at the event. Anybody experiencing technical difficulty or that does not have a smart device capable of streaming may meet for the live meeting but must maintain social distance. If you have the capability of live streaming the meeting, we ask that you do so to minimize the number of people at the live meeting.
  • Face masks are optional for participants, AutoInterests staff will be wearing masks when interacting with drivers during operating hours.
  • Passenger Policy: When two people are in a vehicle together, both driver & passenger must have facial coverings at all times (closed face helmets with the visor shut DOES count as a facial covering). The passenger seat must be sanitized BEFORE and AFTER each passenger, with special attention to common contact points such as door handles. AutoInterests will supply cleaning supplies only for instructors conducting ride-alongs for instructional purposes. All others must provide their own cleaning supplies.
  • AutoInterests will NOT be accepting cash and prefers that you use a form of contactless payment if available, however we will accept swipe/chip credit cards.

COMPLETE YOUR PRE-CHECK-IN NOW!

  1. Log into your account at autointerests.com
  2. Click on "My Account", then go to the "My Events" tab
  3. For your upcoming event, click on START under the pre-check-in column
  4. Sign the WAIVER, click save
  5. Sign the TECH FORM, click save
  6. Upload a photo of your driver's license or other photo ID
  7. Your pre-check-in status will display "Completed" when you're done.

Within 24 hours of event start time we will send a reminder email to complete your health attestation. This will be available on your "My Events" tab within 24 hours of event start time. Anyone not meeting health assessment requirements will not be permitted to attend the event.


SET YOUR INSTRUCTION PREFERENCE!

  1. Log into your account at autointerests.com
  2. Click on "My Account" then go to the "Edit Profile" tab
  3. Choose your Preferred Instruction Method
  4. Click SAVE at the bottom

Instructors and students will have the option to conduct lead-follow and observational instruction rather than in-car at their discretion, read more under the Instructional Procedure section here.

View YOUR schedule, including student information (if pairings have been done) by going to the "Instructor Schedules" tab in your account.


INSTRUCTION PROCEDURE UPDATE:

We've held a few live webinars covering 2020 procedure changes and the new Learning feature that must be used to evaluate your students. If you missed these or have questions, please let us know now. We will include documentation in your Instructor Packet that will help you navigate this system if you need a refresher.


AT THE EVENT:

 INFO FOR GINGERMAN MAY 23-24, 2020: 

The MANDATORY INSTRUCTOR MEETING is at 8am!

The instructor meeting will take place in the classroom (pavilion).  If you are not there on time, it creates extra work as we assume you are not attending and begin to shuffle your assigned students around, so please make sure you are there on time!

  • GATES OPEN Friday May 22 at 6:00pm (overnight camping is permitted)

  • Track is hot from 9:00am - 5pm (run group schedules: SAT May 23 and SUN May 24)

  • Find YOUR schedule by logging in and going to My Account -> Instructor Schedules

 GENERAL INFORMATION: 

  1. Please arrive at the track on time and be ON TIME for the mandatory instructor meeting, followed by the driver meeting (check your INSTRUCTOR SCHEDULE for exact times).
    MEETING LOCATION:
    at Mid-Ohio in the Cooper Tires Garage
    at GingerMan in the pavilion
    at PittRace in the classroom
    at Nelson Ledges in the picnic pavilion
    at Summit Point in the classroom
  2. Please self tech your car, and you'll receive your decals and wristbands at the instructor meeting.
  3. Instructor lunch can be picked up at AutoInterests Hospitality.
  4. Instructors may visit Hospitality for free coffee and bottled water as you need it.
  5. Please remember to bring and wear your AutoInterests Instructor shirt (if you do not have one but requested one, you will receive your shirt that day). 
  6. The instructor run group is reserved solely for instructors, however when you are not instructing or riding with a student, you are permitted to drive in any other run group.
