Hello Instructors,

Due to the current situation with COVID-19, some procedures/policies will be handled differently. Our full COVID-19 Information & Plan is available here, and we encourage you to read through this for more information.

Summit Point Guidelines (highlights):

  • Physical distancing: All participants, crew and essential support personnel will be required to remain in their individual paddock space unless going to restroom or supporting vehicles. All persons shall be advised to practice physical distancing by staying at least six (6) feet away from other groups of people that do not reside with them.
  • PPE: All persons must wear proper personal protection equipment (PPE), including cloth face coverings, when outside of your own paddock space and/or in the presence of individuals whom you do not reside with. This policy is in conjunction with WV executive order No. 50-20.

  • Limited group size: Only crew, support personnel, riders, drivers will be allowed at the event. Family, spectators and guests are not permitted at this time. Individuals that do not reside together must use PPE’s and socially distance.

  • Concession stand(s) will be closed at this time.

  3. Set instruction method preference - please complete this ASAP (if you haven't already) so we can pair you with students sharing the same preference!

COMPLETE YOUR PRE-CHECK-IN NOW!

  1. Log into your account at autointerests.com
  2. Click on "My Account", then go to the "My Events" tab
  3. For your upcoming event, click on START under the pre-check-in column
  4. Sign the WAIVER, click save
  5. Sign the TECH FORM, click save
  6. Upload a photo of your driver's license or other photo ID
  7. Your pre-check-in status will display "Completed" when you're done.

Within 24 hours of event start time we will send a reminder email to complete your health attestation. This will be available on your "My Events" tab within 24 hours of event start time. Anyone not meeting health assessment requirements will not be permitted to attend the event.

NOTE: Pre-check-in and the Health Attestation are not the same item and each will need completed separately. Pre-check-in is available NOW. Health Attestation will be available 24 hours before the event.


SET YOUR INSTRUCTION PREFERENCE!

  1. Log into your account at autointerests.com
  2. Click on "My Account" then go to the "Edit Profile" tab
  3. Choose your Preferred Instruction Method
  4. Click SAVE at the bottom

Instructors and students will have the option to conduct lead-follow and observational instruction rather than in-car at their discretion, read more under the Instructional Procedure section here.


VIEW YOUR SCHEDULE:

View YOUR schedule, including student information (if pairings have been done) by going to the "Instructor Schedules" tab in your account.


INSTRUCTOR TRAINING:

We held a few instructor webinar sessions earlier this year to introduce our Trackside Learning system. If you missed these or are new to AutoInterests please be sure to watch this to prepare for your instruction at our upcoming HPDE. You will need to utilize the Learning system to evaluate your students.

Here is the direct link to the My Learning Test Event:
 
Complete the registration form (select Both Days, and Instructor), add to cart and checkout like normal. Selecting the Instructor Run Group will adjust the price to $0.00.
 
Once registered for the test event, you may go to your Instructor Learning tab, select My Learning Test Event from the drop down menu, and then you can try out the functionality.
 
Make sure you ONLY test and change Hot Lists and Statuses for students in the My Learning Test Event. Do not test on real events!

Your Instructor Packet that you receive at the event will include documentation "cheat sheets" to help you navigate this system if you need a refresher.


AT THE EVENT:

 INFO FOR SUMMIT POINT July 31 - Aug. 3, 2020: 

The MANDATORY INSTRUCTOR MEETING is at 7:30am, you must attend EACH DAY!

The instructor meeting location will be in the classroom.  If you are not there on time, it creates extra work as we assume you are not attending and begin to shuffle your assigned students around, so please make sure you are there on time!

 GENERAL INFORMATION: 

  1. Please arrive at the track on time and be ON TIME for the mandatory instructor meeting, followed by the driver meeting (check your INSTRUCTOR SCHEDULE for exact times).
    MEETING LOCATION:
    at Mid-Ohio in the Cooper Tires Garage
    at GingerMan in the pavilion
    at PittRace in the classroom
    at Nelson Ledges in the picnic pavilion
    at Summit Point in the classroom
  2. Complete your pre-check-in prior to the instructor meeting!
  3. Please self tech your car, and you'll receive your decals and wristbands at the instructor meeting.
  4. Instructor lunch can be picked up at AutoInterests Hospitality.
  5. Instructors may visit Hospitality for free coffee and bottled water as you need it.
  6. Please remember to bring and wear your AutoInterests Instructor shirt (if you do not have one but requested one, you will receive your shirt that day). 
  7. The instructor run group is reserved solely for instructors, however when you are not instructing or riding with a student, you are permitted to drive in any other run group.
